It has been our practice to send out an email when a new version of HexEdit is released. This is sent to all registered users of any version (unless they have requested to be removed from the list) and to others who have requested to be added.
Unfortunately, there are some sites (noteably Yahoo) that are a little too eager to consign emails to the SPAM category. Either that or some recipients are reporting our emails as SPAM without inspecting them closely.
This has caused several instances where later emails from us containing upgrade codes have been blocked. Consequently we consider that the mailing list is more trouble than it is worth and will discontinue it unless we can find a solution.
Note that all email addresses have and always will be kept strictly confidential. In fact they are kept in an encrypted filesystem (using TrueCrypt) on a volume that is kept offline most of the time. We also run regular checks for spyware, zombies, viruses etc and have never had any infections in all the time that we have been making HexEdit.
Please check here regularly for information on updates as starting with HexEdit 3.3 the mailing list has been suspended.
