BCGControlBar is an MFC extension library from BCG (see bcgsoft.com).  I bought an early version (the shareware licence which was $50US/yr), before they released the BCG Pro version.  I think BCG still sell the BCG Pro version but I doubt they still sell the standard version.  (They actually sold most of their Pro code to Microsoft and it is now part of MFC9.)

I doubt whether you can still buy the standard version but if you manage to obtain an old version of the BCG I can make available the latest source code for the free version (HexEdit 3.0).

Actually I am porting HexEdit to Visual Studio 2010 and MFC9 and removing all dependence on the BCG library.  One day I will make the source code available for this version and it won't depend on any commercial libraries (aprt from those that come with Visual Studio).  This may not be for some time.

CORRECTION: I mentioned MFC9 above but it should have said MFC10.

VS2010 comes with MFC10
VS2008 with feature pack has MFC9

The differences between MFC9 and MFC10 are not large.  I am currently porting HexEdit (4.0) to both.  There seems to be a few bugs fixed from MFC9 to MFC 10 so the binary release will probably use MFC10.  Now I just have to buy the upgrade (or backdate my clock to keep using the free RC version of VS2010:)).
